The typical factory setup for guitars is around 5mm. Additionally, it is generally recommended to press down the 1st and 6th strings at the last fret and adjust the pickup-to-string distance to be between 2mm to 3mm.

The sound of the guitar can vary based on the equipment, playing environment, and user preferences, so adjusting the pickup height accordingly is desirable.
